Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known as a character on the popular TV show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. Since his college days Meloni became interested in acting. He then studied at his home institution, the University of Colorado at Boulder. While he's appeared on film and television however it is his roles on the small screen that gave him popularity and much admirers. He is able to portray characters of both good and bad side of the legal system. He is able draw the attention of viewers easily. In his first TV series, he played the part of a killer. Then, he went on to play the part of an NYPD Detective. Because of his portrayal in the small screen, he's been nominated several times for the prestigious Emmy Awards. His piercing blue eyes his face are considered as the most captivating feature. They have been utilized to depict rough characters as well as give them a sense of humour. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
